There is a revolution going on in dog training. Up until the last decade, most Professional dog trainers believed they could not completely train a dog to off leash control without applying some type of pain, considerable discomfort , or loud verbal reprimands. This thinking has been slowly changing as trainers have realized that using harsh corrections is not the most effective way to teach behaviors to a dog.

Through understanding and applying the principles behind behavior conditioning, the trainers at GRDT know that old-style techniques aren’t effective and can harm the trust between you and your dog.

GRDT’s trainers teach you to use positive reinforcement to teach & reward the behaviors that you want from your dog and stop the ones you don’t.

The methods we teach strengthen the relationship between you and your dog.

And unlike harsher methods that are heavily equipment-based and rely on split-second timing, GRDT’s methods are very forgiving of the owners skill levels and are not harmful to your pet.

Our clients experience success quickly and easily adapt our training techniques to successfully communicate with their dogs in the home environment. We teach REAL TRAINING which addresses real life situations, such as greeting people politely, chewing on appropriate toys, walking politely on leash, coming when called, waiting politely at a door.

When can we start training?

Puppy Classes (Click here for current schedule)

Puppies as young as seven or eight weeks are ready to learn to sit, down, their name, and much more. We accept puppy students that have completed their first set of shots and are otherwise healthy.

Our puppy classes focus on socialization and management techniques to ensure the proper start to a lifelong companionship. Puppy classes are $85 for 6 wks.

Adult Classes (Click here for current schedule)

Young adult dogs and recently adopted adult dogs with current vaccinations should start right away. By enrolling in one of our group classes you will be giving yourself the support to get through problem behaviors and undesirable habits that need improvement.

We also address how good behaviors can break down during adolescence (or were never taught to a newly adopted adult dog) and how to return to desirable behaviors.

We show you how to use environmental cues that are present throughout your day to increase your success in training your dog easily and effectively with the limited time that you have. Adult group classes are $85 for 6 wks.

Private lessons are also available for your convenience. Dogs with intolerance/aggression towards other dogs or people are also good candidates for private lessons.
