..a positive solution for you and your dog.

Our Methods

Introductory Class - Lure Reward Training

In our intro classes we use a lot of lure reward training. Lure reward training gives the owners quick success at achieving basic behaviors with a minimal amount of skill required by the owner. Lure reward works on the premise that you use a reward to "lure" the dog's body into certain positions (sitting, laying down, etc.) We find in our intro classes that lure reward is something the whole family can do effectively, while learning the building blocks for the next phase of training: operant conditioning.

Advanced Classes - Clicker Training

In our more advanced classes, we rely on the principles of Applied Operant and Classical Conditioning, also known as "clicker training". Clicker training requires a little more skill on the owner's part. Owners must learn to effectively observe their dog in order to properly mark and reward behaviors. The advantage of clicker training is the infinite possibilities of things you can teach your dog. Unlike traditional force-based methods (where every behavior taught must also have a way to correct it), clicker training is limited only by the handler's imagination and the dog's physical limitations.
